Accessory Dwelling Units

AFCLK’s Action Plan Section on Homes includes promoting the production of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) to increase housing choices. In 2022 the Bath City Council unanimously passed an ordinance, to amend the land use code to include ADUs. An ongoing educational campaign funded by AARP helped create videos, a guidebook, and a trifold flyer to empower residents who consider an ADU on their property for a loved one, or a caregiver; to downsize or to rent for a minimum rental period of 90 days. Chess & Checkers Tables

Senior Men Playing Chess

Sponsored by AARP, Davenport Fund, the City of Bath, Bath Regional Career and Technical Center and AFCLK three newly built chess & checkers tables were installed at Elm Street Plaza in Bath in 2021. This partnership helped furnish a space for intergenerational activities for residents and visitors of all ages. Game sets are available at Country Farm Furniture and Maine Street Design Co. Two additional outdoor chess & checkers tables funded by AARP and Davenport Trust were set up outside the Bath Area Family YMCA in autumn of 2022. Chess and checkers sets are available at the YMCA front desk. Please return for others to enjoy!
